This fun event is foremost a relay format with each team consisting of either 2 or 4 runners with the aim of completing as many laps of the 5k course through the deer enclosure of Windsor Great Park.
With the backdrop of the famous castle itself, you have between 12:00 and 3:00pm (the last lap will be allowed to start at the latest 2:59:59 i.e. 1 second before 3 o’clock) to clock up those laps.
However, this year we are also offering a SOLO OPTION if you fancy the ultimate challenge.
Teams can be single sex or mixed, of any age group as long as each runner is over 18 on race day.
But to include everyone, we will also hold a fun Children’s race (about 400-600m) just after 12:00pm, which is free to enter. Just register on the day, collect a race number and a medal on finishing.
This really is a fun event for anyone, Club teams, a Corporate challenge, or why not just gather a group of friends?
Of course there is no pressure to run multiple laps, and as in previous years each team member can run a single lap and then enjoy the rest of the afternoon (or if you are running solo you can take a break to refuel before setting off again).
Prizes will be awarded for the teams completing the most laps in each category:
There are medals for all participants, with spot prizes, for instance, for the best fancy dress, who is having the most fun, who has travelled furthest etc.
Laleham Photography will be out on the course, snapping pictures of you in full flow. These photos will be available for free after the event (if you don’t wish your photo to be taken please let registration know on the day).
Sport Systems will be providing the timing and registration (through the link above).
Early bird entry (until Feb 28th) is £20 per person and £25 per person thereafter whether you enter as a 2 or as a 4.
Solo Early Bird is £30 (and £40 after Feb 28th)
There is also an option for a proposed team of 4 to place a deposit of £40 now (locking in the early bird pricing) and pay the balance later once you’ve formed your team.
While you relax in-between laps why not enjoy the Festival Village where there will be:
Plenty of room for a picnic, so why not bring the family to support you and enjoy the sunshine, parking is free (Map) and toilets are located close to the start line.
All profits to go to local charities, including the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.
